Protecting Data and Privacy

Ensuring privacy is a top priority for ALZ-NET, and we are committed to its protection.

ALZ-NET adheres to strict data security and privacy protocols to ensure the safety of user information. These protocols also govern our data collection processes and participant interactions.

To protect privacy, here are some specific measures we have put in place:

  • We remove all information that could identify a participant, including name, from the data before researchers can access it.
  • We strictly adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations for governing information safely.
  • We maintain strict internal policies and procedures to prevent any data misuse.
  • Our data security systems undergo regular security evaluations.
  • We store all information on secure servers to restrict and track who has visibility of the data.
  • Those accessing data must comply with rules and regulations for use. This includes prohibiting researchers from attempting to identify any participants using the data.
  • In the event of a security data breach that poses a privacy risk, affected individuals will be notified promptly.

ALZ-NET is sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association and managed and operated by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
